Rick Scarboro

Rick is the owner and President of Blue Ridge Benefit Solutions. Entering the insurance business in 1980, Rick has spent the last 27 years building an insurance practice by focusing on client needs and building relationships. These many years of experience, as a company agent and independent agent, led to the creation of Blue Ridge Benefit Solutions in October 2001.

Rick holds a B.S. degree in Business from Western Carolina University. He also has earned many specialized and advanced industry professional designations: Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). He has North Carolina insurance licenses for Life, Accident & Health, Medicare Supplements (including Part D) and Long Term Care.

Rick is a current member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors(NAIFA) and the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). He has been involved in NAIFA for 26 years and was one of the charter members of our local chapter of NAHU. He has served in many board positions on the local and state level, including Past-President of the Western NC chapter of NAHU. He has qualified for the Leading Producer Round Table for the last 10 years and is also a recipient of the 2003 Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding service on a local level with the Western NC chapter of NAHU.

He is actively involved in North Buncombe Kiwanis and Christ United Methodist Church of Weaverville. He and his wife, Terrie, recently celebrated their 32nd anniversary.
 

Debbi Callahan

Debbi has been a licensed insurance agent since 1985. She spent the first 11 years working in the Property and Casualty field, before coming to work with Rick and focusing on health insurance as his administrative assistant in 1996.

Debbi has earned the professional designations of Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC). She has North Carolina insurance licenses for Life, Accident & Health, Medicare Supplements (including Part D) and Long Term Care.

She is a current member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and has been active on a local level for several years. She has served as Community Service, Hospitality and Awards Chairperson. She was the 2005 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding service on a local level with the Western NC chapter of NAHU.

Debbi and her husband, Mal, have been married 17 years and have two sons, Ryan(14) and Justin(12). She spends her spare time involved with her children’s sports and school activities.

Niki Hoyle

A licensed agent, Niki began her insurance career in 1999 and started with our office in October 2005. Although she is new to Benefit Solutions, we have known and worked with her for many years.  She has North Carolina insurance licenses for Life, Accident & Health, Medicare Supplements and Long Term Care.

Niki is already an asset to our office with her experience and great people skills. You will find Niki’s efficient and expert customer service to be a pleasant and worry-free experience.  Working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, her primary duties will be customer service and marketing. 

Niki is a devoted wife to her husband, Jared and a wonderful mother to her two beautiful children, Phillip(8) and Ava(3).
